Installation Steps:

1. Start by measuring the height and width of the window opening where you plan to install the balance. Record these measurements for reference.

2. Ensure that you have chosen the correct Caldwell Roller Tilt Constant Force Balance based on the weight and dimensions of your window sash. Refer to the manufacturer's guidelines or consult with a professional if you're unsure.

3. Wear safety glasses to protect your eyes during the installation process.

4. To access the balance, you will more than likely need to remove the window sash. Most sashes can be removed by tilting them inwards and lifting them out of the frame. Use caution as some sashes can be heavy.

5. In some cases, there may already be an existing balance or pocket in the window frame. If so, locate it and remove any coverings or trim that may be concealing it.

6. If there is an old or damaged balance in place, carefully remove it using a screwdriver or pliers. Be cautious not to damage the window frame or sash.

7. Slide the new balance into the jamb pocket and place in the mounting location.

8. Secure the balance in place using the bracket and screws.

9. Ensure that the balance is level and securely fastened.

10. If the sash was removed, reattach it to the balance. Align the sash with the balance and put the pivot bars back into the coil balance.

11. Carefully push the sash down slightly to ensure the window is level, then push the sash back into the jamb. Next, gently raise and lower the window sash to ensure that the sash is mounted properly and that the balance operates smoothly. If you had to remove any trim or coverings to access the balance, replace them securely.

12. Double-check that the window operates smoothly and that the balance is securely installed.
