Window pivot bars are an important component of tilt windows. Pivot bars (sometimes called pivot pins) are located along the bottom of the sash and are what allows the window to tilt inwards. When the window is lifted a few inches and then is tilted inwards, the pivot bar engages a cam in the pivot lock shoe which then locks the shoe into the window jamb. There are many different styles, shapes, and sizes of pivot bars (more than are listed here!), so finding the right one can be frustrating and confusing. Don't worry, we're here to help!
